The delegation of the City of Belišće is on an educational two-day visit to Poreč to see the tourist offer, learn something new and see how to work and live with tourism and in tourism. The delegation is headed by Deputy Mayor Domagoj Varžić and Director of the Belišće Tourist Board Janja Čeliković, reports Istria Terra Magica. Deputy Mayor Varžić added that more than 50 percent of their guests come for wine and a tour of the cellar, and they are lucky that there are as many as four famous vineyards near them. He also pointed out that their trump card is gastronomy, but also natural and cultural sights, and that they are working on the development of cycling tourism. The landlords emphasized that they are delighted with the villas and holiday homes they have visited and that they still have a lot of work to do in Belišće. The guests presented their city and numerous projects, among which is the stronger development of tourism. Today, Belišće has about 50 beds in private accommodation, it will soon get a hostel, and next year the first hotel. The director of the tourist board, Čeliković, emphasized that they have a number of well-known and large events. It was concluded that Belišće also has a lot to offer and a mutual visit of Poreč residents was agreed in the foreseeable future. This will be an ideal opportunity for the people of Poreč to present their tourist offer to Slavonians. They point out that the cooperation between these two tourist boards will certainly continue. An excellent example of cooperation and exchange of experiences of tourist boards with completely different tourist products will certainly raise the quality of the offer of both parties. On Thursday, guests from Slavonia visited high-class apartments and holiday homes in the area of Kaštelir and Vižinada and the luxurious Villa Euphrasiana in the old town of Poreč, and later in the evening they prepared a gastronomic presentation of Slavonian delicacies to the people of Poreč. This included dishes such as kulen, shepherd’s pie and poppy seeds and walnuts.
